Terms of use and EULA
These Terms of Use and EULA govern the Art Says Hi website, browser scanner, and English iOS and Android app. By using Art Says Hi, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
An exploratory visual reading
Art Says Hi provides an exploratory visual reading, not a provenance certificate, appraisal, legal opinion, insurance opinion, valuation, museum record, or substitute for a qualified specialist. Visual analysis can be incomplete, uncertain, or wrong.
Check identification, dates, makers, locations, and historical context against museum, archive, catalogue, or specialist sources before using a result for attribution, purchase, insurance, publication, or another important decision.
Your images and your responsibility
You must have the right or permission to submit an image and ask Art Says Hi to process it. Do not submit material that is unlawful, harmful, confidential, or that you are not allowed to share. Avoid including private documents, faces, or other personal information unless you are comfortable sending it for the selected reading.
You are responsible for reviewing the result before sharing it. A result may include an interpretation or a suggestion rather than a verified identity.
Local app archive
The current app release stores discoveries, collections, notes, settings, and captured image copies on your device. There is no account or cloud archive sync in the current release. You are responsible for maintaining access to your device and for any backup choices provided by the operating system.
The app's Settings includes an erase option for local data. Erasing local data cannot undo a request already sent to the gateway or a provider.
Third party services and advertising
Art Says Hi depends on third party services for gateway processing, app distribution, advertising, analytics, diagnostics, hosting, and platform features. These services may include Google AdMob, Firebase Analytics, Google Analytics 4, Sentry, Apple services, and Google Play services. Their terms and privacy policies may also apply.
When enabled, advertisements may appear after the first completed result and may be subject to consent, device settings, and regional requirements. Ads are not intended to interrupt onboarding, image capture, or reading the first completed result.
Acceptable use and availability
Use Art Says Hi lawfully and do not probe, disrupt, overload, reverse engineer, bypass rate limits, or attempt to access another user's data or our provider credentials. We may limit or suspend access to protect the service, users, providers, or the public.
The service is an early product and may change, be unavailable, or return an incomplete result. We do not promise that every image can be identified or that the service will meet a particular purpose. To the extent allowed by law, the service is provided without guarantees beyond those that cannot legally be excluded.
App stores and EULA
When you download Art Says Hi through Apple or Google, the relevant store terms, payment rules, and device rules also apply. Apple and Google are not responsible for providing maintenance or support for Art Says Hi. If you use the iOS app, Apple's standard licensed application EULA is incorporated by reference unless a different written EULA is supplied.
